There’s way too many things to see in Paris, this is what I managed to get to in 3 short days.

Châtelet

First stop in the city was the central “Châtelet” metro stop, just north of notre dame.

Hôtel de Ville

Immediately the striking and uniform architecture was unavoidable. The River Seine and surprised to see the Eiffel Tower from here.

Notre-Dame

The central cathedral of Paris

Surprised to find out that you can just walk in without a reservation, it was quite crowded.

Basilique du Sacré-Cœur

“Basilica of the Sacred Heart”

This gem of a place sits on a tall hill in the north part of the city. I didn’t realize there were any hills here at all.

Montmartre

The artistic hilltop neighborhood, where the basilica is located.

This ended up being my favorite location in the city, by far. The street art, views, and small peaceful scenes we’re a welcome break from the hectic city below.
We ate some snails up here.

Arc de Triomphe

Classic stop with the crazy roundabout traffic endlessly circling. You have to run across 8 lanes of non stop traffic to get to it!

The Louvre

We walked down the famous Av. des Champs-Élysées road to see the Louvre buildings.

Jardin des Champs-Élysées

The huge garden park next to the Louvre. If you enjoy history, this was the location of the guillotine site for royal executions during the french revolution.

Gros-Caillou & The Seine

Making our way to the Eiffel Tower, the neighborhood just below is called Gros-Caillou, and arguably the most Paris looking one.

Eiffel Tower

The tower is the highlight of Paris for a reason. It is way larger that you would think from photos.

There are a network of huge staircases and angled elevators to get up. The tower has 3 main levels, we went up to the very top.

Our timing was perfect for sunset and being able to walk through the open stairs at night. The tower feels like a giant machine with pulleys and cables spinning and whirling.

The tower is a marvel, and one of the most impressive man made structures I have seen.

La Défense

The financial sector with tall modern buildings, outside the city center.

Nice sight lines to the arc.

Unique hollow building: Grande Arche de la Défense

Panthéon Area

Our last few stops we’re to visit some landmarks in the center

Church of Saint-Étienne-du-Mont

Jardin du Luxembourg

Paris also has some toy sailboating like NYC

Opera House Area

These monolithic blocks were pretty incredible

We we’re doing an urban trip this time, jumping from city to city.
Next we’d catch a train to Brussels.
