Sevilla is a bigger, more proper city than where we have been in Spain. It was flatter, and more elegant as well.
We decided to relax and do some work for a few days here.
When coming into sevilla, i noticed a skyscraper. Havent seen one of those in Spain yet. This will be useful information for later..
I was staying right in the center of old town. I knew about a grand plaza on the south end of town, and was just going to wander my way to it.

Sevilla Cathedral
In the center of the city is the biggest gothic cathedral in the world.

As a huge bonus, you are able to climb the bell tower for a 360 degree view of the city. Also, to my surprise, the tomb of Christopher Columbus was in there (pictured above).
Plaza de España
The red half circle building here is massive, and the home of the Spanish military. There were tons of people and performers here. The architecture was nice.

The following day I had a goal to climb tall things.
Journal Entry
I noticed a tower that you can go up right by the only skyscraper in the city. Seemed like a good spot. The map said it was only open for thirty minutes a day at 12:30. Sounded a bit sus, but why not check it out.
I walked over there to find it gated off from the river. A bit confused, I walked around a huge building and down a big set of stairs and found that there was actually a guy down there. He told me to buy a ticket (back up the stairs) and I could go up. Nice
A one way trip up the elevator and there were finally some views. It was fun up there as it’s open air and on a sketchy looking towers that was who knows how old. The way down was 15 floors of spiraling ramps around a hollow core. A bit nervy.
But there were bigger fish to fry. Bigger things to climb. So headed over to the big building (after eating some good Spanish tbell) and bought a ticket to the top.
I ended up spending most the day here.
The first tower I found was part of a science museum.

Sevilla Tower
Across the river, tucked away in some new development corporate zone, was the only skyscraper we have seen in Spain. I didn’t know if you could go up, but lucked out as there is an observation floor at the top.

From the top of the tower, I spotted a very strange looking “thing” deep in the city, so on the way back i tried to find it. It was a large sculpture positioned on top a plaza.

The next day I just relaxed by the river.
There was one last tower to climb, with a farewell view of the cathedral.

Next stop was just an hour down to the coast in Cadiz
