I spent only a couple dark hours in Geneva, sleeping in a hostel before my flight the next morning.
Lake Geneva is beautiful, and has a nice build up of slowly taller mountains as you leave geneva towards the Alps.
Geneva itself felt quite a bit rough compared with anywhere else in Switzerland. Not that that’s bad or anything, but it definitely had more of the large European city feel than the more idyllic mountain towns.

They have a massive fountain there.
Switzerland is a must see country - the mountains, glaciers, and valleys are incredible.
It has a reputation for being expensive, so I’d recommend using the Swiss Youth Hostels or by camping if you’re on a backpackers budget like I was, and do some hikes instead of taking the cable cars. An Interrail pass helped for the train and ferries.
