Kölner Dom

Cologne Cathedral

I’ve seen a lot of Cathedrals in Europe and the one in Cologne takes it. It’s right outside the train station and the first thing you see, and it looms over you.

Hohenzollern Bridge

Directly behind the cathedral to cross the River Rhine, is a triple arch rail bridge - rebuilt in it’s original style.

The rails on the walkway were completely covered in locks the entire distance across.

Köln Triangle

We crossed the bridge to climb the only observation deck I could find in town, the Cologne Triangle - which was the rooftop of an office building.

I did my best to line up some of the info drawings they had on the windows.

River Walk

Cologne has a lively old town and some new modern areas. Also the Lindt chocolate factory is here on the river. The beer is still pricy though, and served in tiny cologne cups.
It felt more down to earth than anywhere else so far.

Next we were going back to Belgium to stop by Antwerp.
