The Hague, while not the capital of The Netherlands, is where the country’s seat of government and royal residences are.

Binnenhof
“Inner Court”

Built in the 13th century as the “Courts of Holland”, this huge building (under construction) in the very center of the city has remained the location of the Dutch government.

When we were there, there was a tall, wobbly staircase allowing us to peek inside, as the normally open building was closed for renovations.

We were also finally able to make it to the sea.
Delft
The real gem of The Hague is a small village on the outskirts you can reach by tram called Delft

A pretty village with canals everywhere and small towers and squares.
